New training project
I haven't had much motivation to train the last year (or more?). But, I've got a new project that I'm thinking might help. I'm planning to run/walk/bike every street in Lawrence.
My project is much more modest. Lawrence has only about 300 miles of streets. It is also a lot easier to bike than to walk.
I'm tracking my progress on a map that I've got at work. So far, most of my project has involved biking slightly different routes to work each day.
I know a few other people who have done similar projects. Joe B is apparently running every street in Bethel, CT. Eric B. biked every road in Thompkins County, NY. I'm sure there are plenty of other people who have played similar training games.
I haven't been. I should probably take a look at the OSM for Lawrence before I go out and decide if it needs some updating. If the area I'm headed looks out of date or incomplete, I could log it with GPS. For the most part, OSM has accurate coverage of the street system in Lawrence. It needs work on things like buildings.
