Monkey Mountain - Today's Orienteering
I managed to avoid any booms induced by falling today! That's probably because I didn't fall until the last step on the course. I slipped on some mud at the finish line and took a hard fall, landing with my knee on concrete.
Monkey Mountain is a classic Kansas City orienteering area. I have memories of running on the original black and white map, hunting for markers that weren't in the right place. The current map is fine, but it is a bit old. The rough open areas have a lot of young trees and thorny brush.
