Sprint map of the KU Campus

Here is a preview of the sprint map of the KU Campus. This is the map we'll be using for the race on December 2.

If you're familiar with the KU Campus, you'll recognize that the large buildings in the south part of this bit of the map are the Spencer Museum of Art and the Kansas Union.

I think it is fair to say that this bit of the map is representative of the range of terrain you'll be seeing on the December 2 race.

This looks really good. I've never wanted to orienteering in KS as I do now.

Oooooh, where's the tunnel?

Is there a rule about cutting through buildings in orienteering? Because cutting through the Union is a nifty way to save some time. Heck, I can think of several buildings where a pass-through could save time, depending on the leg.

If it's mapped as a building, no dice: ISSOM symbol 526.1 Building - forbidden to pass through or over.
