A sight for sore eyes
I ran on an honest-to-goodness offset printed map today. It was really nice. I run with various inkjet and laser printed maps so often that I've nearly forgotten how much easier it can be to read a well drafted and well printed offset map. Though, I still had to use a magnifier to read the fine detail at 1:15,000.
I ran on a map called Bushy Ridge at Fahnestock State Park, New York. The park hosted a world cup race a long time ago (1986?). The map has aged well. Sure there are some new trails and some changes to the vegetation. But the quality of the fieldchecking was very high.
