Retired Champ
Bjornar Valstad retired from competition after last season. But he still updates his web page (though not as often). Today he wrote a bit about what he is doing and thinking. Here is a quick (and rough) translation of what he wrote:
Reading about the Norwegian and Swedish national teams' preparations for the WOC in Japan is stimulating. You think: how would I have done it? What would I be thinking in the same situation? What would I focus on if I was aiming for a WOC gold? And it feels good to stop there. Philosophizing and planning when you are sitting in the sofa in front of the fireplace is very easy. The challenge is following through on the plans, and I don't feel the motivation to do that.
