Wrong way Antti
It sounds like a nightmare. You're running in a big relay race. After two legs, your team is leading and you're ready to go. You grab the map and go...but, you go the wrong way. You run the course backwards. Instead of starting with 1, 2, 3, and so on, you run to 14, then 13, then 12...
Antti Harju lived the nightmare at this weekends Smalands Kavlen in Sweden. He went out in the lead and ran the course the wrong way.
Apparently he discovered his error when he met, head on, the pack that had gone out behind him.
To his credit, Antti ran back to the first control, then the second and so on. He finished the course. His time was 95 minutes, compared to a best time just under 48. He went out in the lead and finished in 128th place (of about 190 teams).
