I'm starting 2012 with a modified 31 day challenge. The 31 day challenge is to orienteer (i.e. run a course on a map) each day in January. I did 31 day challenges in 2009 and 2010 - meeting the challenge in 2010 but failing in 2009.
This year's challenge is "modified" - instead of running 31 days of orienteering in a row, I'm going to see how long it takes to reach 31 days with some orienteering. I made the change for practical reasons. I knew that work would get in the way of at least 2 days. I also thought that giving myself the option of taking a day off wouldn't be a bad idea.
Seven days into 2012 and I've done 6 orienteering sessions. So, I'm on track.
A few links:
Eric Buckley has done the same thing as "March Mapness" and "March Mapness in October."
Norwegians in Vancouver have, too.
Christina completed the 31 day challenge in 2010.
Here's my write up after completing the 31 day challenge in 2010.
